What type of child is best served at FSH?
A bright child who is motivated, curious, and developmentally appropriate for his/her grade level and who has the ability to engage in an academically challenging curriculum.
Does the school serve children with learning differences/disabilities?
The Learning Resource Team is available to provide academic challenge and academic support, particularly in the areas of math, reading, and writing. The school does not have the resources to support well-defined learning differences.

What makes FSH special?
FSH is the only school along the Main Line that is Quaker, coed and elementary. It is a small community serving 105 students. At Friends School Haverford students become great leaders. Inspired teaching, a close-knit community, and opportunities for leadership are hallmarks of our program. The school is an expert in teaching young through pre-adolescent children.
What supports are in place to help children with academics?

How does the school help with this process?
Head of School and sixth grade teacher meet with all 6th grade families in the fall.
Admission Directors from surrounding independent schools visit FSH in early October to meet 6th grade families.
In class test prep for ISEE and ERB testing
ISEE (Independent School Entrance Exam) offered to sixth grade students only. FSH is considered a closed site for testing.
Close supervision by Administrative Assistant, Joanne Miller, with support from Andrea Dominic, Director of Admission and Advancement, to assure all testing, recommendations and school reports are sent to the applying schools in a timely manner.
