Financial Aid

Making an FSH Education Accessible

Friends School Haverford is committed to making an exceptional early childhood education accessible to all families who feel called to our community. Our need-based Financial Aid program helps ensure that finances are not a barrier to joining FSH.

We proudly use the Clarity Application to determine a family’s level of need. The process is secure, simple, and mobile-friendly, taking most families less than 30 minutes to complete.

How to Apply for Financial Aid

1. Go to the Clarity Application and create an account.

2. Code for Clarity – 1885

3. Complete the application, which asks for basic information about your family’s income, assets, expenses, and debts.

4. Pay the $60 submission fee. You may share your application with other schools that use Clarity at no additional cost by selecting them from the dropdown list.

5. After submitting, return to your dashboard to upload any requested tax documentation.

If you need assistance, you can email support@claritytuition.com or call 206-210-3752. Help is available in English and Spanish, and the full application is also available in Spanish.

Financial Aid Process

As a small independent early childhood center, our Financial Aid committee—which includes the Head of School, Business Office, and members of the Finance Committee—review the entire applicant pool before issuing final awards. This allows us to steward our limited financial aid resources thoughtfully and allocate support fairly across all families.

Consistent with our Quaker Core Values of equality, stewardship, and community, we consider both financial circumstances and individual family situations as part of our review process. Our goal is to make a Friends School Haverford education as accessible as possible while ensuring that financial aid decisions are equitable and sustainable for the school community as a whole.

Timeline for Financial Aid Awards

The Financial Aid Committee meets monthly from April to August to review the applicant pool and issue awards. Families will be notified of the Prospective Financial Aid Award they are offered within 10 days.

By the end of the same month, families must accept the prospective award and submit all enrollment and application documents as well as their deposit to be fully enrolled for the following school year.

Families who do not complete these steps will be re-entered into the next applicant pool and risk having their award reduced through the next review process. When the number of applications for financial aid increases, this impacts the variance in need which allows the committee to award need as outlined above, in alignment with our Core Values.

All FSH families are eligible to apply for financial aid and should do so every year, as aid awards fluctuate depending on the relative needs of our school community.
