Nursery Camp Counselor
The Summer Camp at Friends School Haverford is seeking to hire 6 counselors for our Nursery summer program for children who are 24 months old by June 1. Camp runs from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, with before-care extending the day for some campers and staff from 7:45 am to 9:00 am and 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. The summer season begins June 12 and runs for nine weeks until August. Then post-camp weeks run from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm until September 1. The entire camp is closed the week of July 4th. There are a variety of positions available, and interested applicants can learn more about multiple shift start and end times.
Nursery Camp Counselors (2 to 3 year olds) will work with the Lead teacher in a summer classroom with up to 14 campers. The counselors will lead and support activities, but will not be responsible for planning or communicating with parents. The program is play-based, and we will be outside as often as possible on our amazing outdoor playgrounds. We seek individuals with experience in and a passion for working with children. Our program is a great place for those interested in a future in education and childcare to gain hands-on experience while working with experienced teachers in a nurturing and creative environment.
Requirements:
- Two Written References from non-family members aware of your work with children.
- Copies of Degrees and Transcripts.
- Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance
- Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Criminal History Clearance
- National Sex Offender Registry (NSOR) Verification
- Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) Criminal History Clearance
- Complete Required OCDEL Health & Safety Trainings, Health & Safety Basics Part 1 and 2
- Pediatric CPR & First Aid trained
- Up-to-Date Health Assessment & TB Test
