Friends School Haverford is seeking full-time assistant teachers in our early childhood classrooms beginning in late August 2024. Working collaboratively with the Lead Teacher, the Assistant Teacher supports students aged 2.7-5 in a play-based curriculum incorporating social and emotional learning; language and literacy development; early mathematical thinking; and exploration and discovery. An ideal candidate is someone with experience working with three and four-year-old students and who wants to collaborate with colleagues around best practices, can communicate effectively with parents, has experience teaching in a religiously and culturally diverse setting, and has an excellent rapport with young children. Since its founding in 1885, Friends School Haverford has been guided by Quaker principles and provides an intellectually rich program to students from nursery school through grade 5.   • Experience working in an early childhood setting is preferred, being familiar with Quaker education and bilingual are wonderful bonuses.
  • A college degree is required, with a preference given to candidates who have completed coursework in education.
