Friends School Haverford

The Summer Camp at Friends School Haverford is looking to hire six counselors for our two summer programs this summer. Camps run from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm before, and After Care extends the day for some campers and staff from 8:30 am to 9:00 am and 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. 

The summer season begins June 12 and runs for nine weeks until August 23. 

Camp is closed the entire week of July 4. A variety of positions and multiple shift start and end times are available. Two counselors will work primarily with our Seedlings Campers (ages 3 to entering Kindergarten).

Seedlings Counselors will work with the lead teacher in a summer classroom of up to 14 campers. The counselors will lead and support activities but will not be responsible for planning or communicating with parents. The program is play-based, and we will be outside as often as possible on our exceptional outdoor playgrounds. We seek individuals with experience in and a passion for working with children. Our program is an excellent place for those interested in a future in education and childcare to gain hands-on experience while working with experienced teachers in a nurturing and creative environment.

Four counselors will work with our Great Oaks campers (entering 1st grade through entering 6th grade).

Great Oaks Counselors will be responsible for up to 14 campers. In the morning, counselors will bring their group to classes taught by a teacher and participate in support. They will also supervise during snack, lunch, and recess times. Following lunch and recess, counselors will lead enrichment activities that campers select daily. The counselors will guide and support activities but will not be responsible for planning or communicating with parents. The camp is unplugged, and we will be outside as often as possible on our exceptional outdoor playgrounds and playing surfaces.

$500 a week
