On-Site Summer Camp Director

The Summer Camp at the Friends School Haverford seeks to hire an on-site Camp Director. The position is a seasonally full-time position limited to the weeks the camp will be in session (June 10 - August 23 1 for 2024). It is a 10-week stretch, but the camp will be closed for the week of July 3-7.

This Summer On-Site position will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the camp, including but not limited to :

• Managing camp staff (providing feedback, support, and guidance)
• Overseeing the implementation of the camp schedule and groupings
• Tracking staff attendance for payroll
• Making programming decisions based on weather (excessive heat, storms)
• Primary Parent contact for any concerns
• Communicating facilities needs to the school
• Weekly reports to the Year long Camp Director and or the Head of School

The school seeks candidates with a deep understanding of child development, experience managing people, comfortable communicating with parents, and a calm presence. In addition, this person may wear many hats, is flexible, has a sense of humor, and can think on their feet are essentials as well.

- 3 years experience teaching children or working at a camp
- Experience managing people
- All State and Federal clearances
